“This plant lends itself perfectly to the production of specialties”

Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods acquires NutriDutch plant in Putten, Netherlands

Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods has acquired the Putten-based company NutriDutch. NutriDutch, which made products for the food industry, went bankrupt in late 2021. Vreugdenhil plans to use this capacity expansion to focus primarily on the production of high-quality nutritional products. For example, specialties based on milk, whey and vegetable raw materials. The acquisition also means that Vreugdenhil will employ many of NutriDutch’s employees.

CEO Albert de Groot of Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods is excited to get started with the plant in Putten. “This is a plant of modest size, which offers a nice addition to our current portfolio and an expansion of our capacity. This plant lends itself perfectly to the production of specialties.” The addition of the plant to Vreugdenhil’s current portfolio enables the company to start meeting customer demands that were not previously feasible due to a lack of scale.

Knowledge and skills
In the coming period, Vreugdenhil will make preparations to start up the plant in Putten as soon as possible. The experience of the former employees of NutriDutch plus the knowledge and expertise that Vreugdenhil has in house are of great value in this process.

Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods says it is proud of this great step: “It is wonderful that we, as a healthy dairy company, can undertake this expansion. I am confident that this new plant will enable us to meet customer demands even better.”

Receiver: “Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods best party”
In a response, the trustee Mr F.W. Aartsen said: “In spite of the specific nature of the plant, market parties had a great interest in acquiring it. After a bidding round and a selection of candidates, it soon became clear that Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods was the best party, which also offered guarantees for maintaining a large part of the employment. It was an intensive process and fortunately we were able to close the transaction quickly. It’s good that the plant can make a new start with Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods.”
